Narrative paragraph by Jackson Roderick

Experience of a life time
“Don’t cry because its over. Smile because it happened”
~ Dr. Seuss
As we step onto the plane we are overjoyed. We can all feel the excitement we have made it. All of our hard work has payed off and we are going to florida to play at the National Championship for football. We are about to embark on a journey that we have never even dreamed could happen. It will be a 3 hour flight with friends and fun but when we get there it is all business. We Arrive there and get to our hotel. It looks like this experience is going to be fun. But once again we came here to play football and we came here to win. We still don’t know who were are going to play for now. But right now we are going to have some fun and hang out. I am especially happy to be here because this is something that I have wanted to be a part of ever since teams were able to go to florida and compete for a national championship.
Going into the first game we are playing the Saints. This is a team that was bigger, stronger and faster but we didn’t back down. People picked us as the underdog. All of that didn’t phase us and didn’t make us back down. The first half goes by and they are beating us, not in the scoreboard but physically. The third quarter ends and we are headed into the quarter that counts the most. We run away with the score. Scoring touchdowns left and right. We come out of that game with a win. Uproars and screams and then it hits me and it hits the team we are going to the national championship.
For this game we know who we are playing. The MOT Cowboys. They have won the National Championship three years in a row trying to make it four. But we really wanted to win this game and end their winning streak. We start out the game with the ball, But we can tell early that they are a good team. we are just hanging in there by a thread. I go in on defense and the ball snaps. The player with the ball runs my way. I am sprinting towards the sidelines but can’t reach him and hes goes in for the touchdown putting them ahead 6-0. We get the ball back and try to march down the field but can’t. The game is over. We have lost. Feeling I was the one that let up the touchdown. I start to cry and feel like I don’t want to be near anyone. 2nd in the country not bad but not number one. We came here for one thing and that is to win and we did it in the first game but not in the game that counted the most. Since that time I have realized what an amazing accomplishment and an amazing lesson it was for us to get that far and I’m not as disappointed as I was that day. Instead I’m proud.
